Federal Work Study (FWS)
Federal Work Study is awarded to students by completing the FAFSA and submitting the information to the Cuesta College Financial Aide Department.  If you have completed and submitted this paperwork it will take at least 6 weeks for it to be processed.  You can check to find out if you have been awarded your Financial Aide and Federal Work Study grant by logging into my.cuesta. Click on the "Student" tab and go to "Banner Self-Service" in the center of the page. Click on "Student", then "Financial Aide" then "Awards".  You should be able to see if you have been awarded Federal Work Study.  If you have been awarded a PELL grant, but it does not specify Federal Work Study, email or call Mr. Payne @ X 2505 to check on your award.  PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT HIM UNTIL YOUR  AWARD HAS BEEN POSTED. The Financial Aide department will not be able to help you with a Federal Work Study placement until your financial aide has been awarded.

FWS Job Placement

All Work study students should  Register with the Career Services Website by clicking on the green box "Employment Services for Students" above. Once you register, make sure you respond to the email in your mailbox to verify your login information. You can begin looking for work as soon as you know you qualify for Work Study. Federal Work Study positions will be listed among the Job Openings online.  Complete a search for "Cuesta College" as the employer to find them.  If you have trouble with the website, please email the Career Connections Worker and ask for help.
