Student Development & Success

The Student Development and Success (SDS) Division consists of three academic departments: College Success Studies, English as a Second Language, and Basic Skills Noncredit.

Basic Skills Noncredit offers California High School Equivalency Certificate (GED) test preparation classes that provide students the opportunity to improve their technological and test-taking skills as well as build their knowledge in the four content areas of Language Arts, Social  Studies, Science, and Math. Courses are offered in English and Spanish.

The mission of CSS is to prepare students for success at Cuesta College. Through the instruction of pre-collegiate, basic skills, and transfer-level coursework emphasizing college readiness, CSS effectively supports students in their efforts to improve foundational and college-readiness skills.

Cuesta’s ESL program provides language development opportunities for students of all English language proficiency levels in our community.
