After 38 years of recording, touring and music education, the New York Voices are
writing their final chapter. At the end of 2026, they are hanging up their microphones
and waltzing into other solo endeavors that have been ruminating about, retiring from
their beloved musical family. They are grateful for the many collaborations they
have shared with artists like The Count Basie Orchestra, Paquito D’Rivera, Ivan Lins,
The Boston Pop, and the list goes on. The journey has taken them to all parts of
the globe while reminding them that home is precious, family is everything and music
is the great and wise communicator.
We hope you have caught a show, listened to a record or two or attended one of their many educational events they have presented over the years. Cuesta College is honored to host them this year and bring them to you again-or for your first time!
27th Annual Cuesta Vocal Jazz Festival
Friday and Saturday, November 7-8, 2025
Location
Cuesta College San Luis Obispo campus
Status
Non-competitive, educational and supportive. Open to any educational vocal jazz ensemble.
Format
Groups go through a rotation: Warm-up, Performance, and off-stage Clinic. Each part
of the rotation lasts 25 minutes. We recommend 3 songs, with a maximum of 4 songs
allowed.
Technical
- We have capacity for 18 handheld mics
- We can provide overhead condenser mics for larger groups.
- We provide, keyboard, bass amp, guitar amp, and drumset; but NOT cymbals. Bring your own Cymbals.
Lunch
Lunch options will be confirmed closer to the event date. There are numerous restaurant
options in Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo, both 10-15 minutes from Cuesta College.
