Faculty Resources

The Student Success Center is dedicated to partnering with faculty to support student learning and achievement. We offer a variety of services that faculty can connect their students to or integrate directly into their courses. These include supervised drop-in and virtual tutoring across multiple subjects, interactive study events, academic skills workshops, and embedded tutoring tailored to specific course needs.

Faculty are also welcome to reserve space in the center for office hours and to refer students to our Writing Center for support at any stage of the writing process. This page provides tools, resources, and information to help faculty maximize our services and collaborate with us in fostering student success.

We invite you to explore our offerings and connect with our team to discover how we can best support you and your students this semester.

Holding office hours in the Student Success Center increases your visibility and makes academic support more accessible for students. It creates opportunities for informal interactions, encourages students to take advantage of tutoring services, and fosters a collaborative learning environment.

By being present in the center, you help build a sense of community outside the classroom, showing students that faculty are approachable and invested in their success. Your presence can inspire students to seek help, collaborate with peers, and engage more deeply with their learning.

If you're interested in holding your office hours in the center, please email us at ssc@cuesta.edu. Let's work together to create a welcoming and connected academic communityParticipate in Study Events

Study Jam and Studython are high-energy events designed to give students extra support as they prepare for exams. Faculty participation makes a big difference—whether by leading a review session, hosting a Q&A table, or simply being present to encourage and guide students. Your involvement not only strengthens academic confidence but also fosters a sense of connection and community during critical points in the semester.

When faculty show up, students feel supported, valued, and motivated to succeed. Join us in creating an inspiring and collaborative study environment!

Communication to sign up will be sent out ahead of each event—keep an eye on your email or here on our website for a live sign-up link!

Have a student who excels in your course and would make a great tutor? We welcome faculty recommendations to help build a strong, supportive team in the Student Success Center. Faculty endorsements are an important part of our tutor hiring process, as they help us identify students who are not only academically strong but also responsible, communicative, and ready to support their peers.

Share tutor application with your student and email the ssc@cuesta.edu your recommendation and which subject!

Tutor recommendations are ongoing, and we contact recommended tutors as needs arise. Since tutor schedules vary each semester, keeping a list of potential tutors allows us to quickly connect students with the support they need.

Thank you for helping us grow our team of outstanding peer tutors!
