National Nurse Assistant Assessment Program (NNAAP)
The National Nurse Assistant Assessment Program (NNAAP) is designed to determine competency to become a state certified nurse assistant. The NNAAP consists of both a written (or oral) exam and a skills evaluation, which are taken separately. The Cuesta College North County campus in Paso Robles is a designated testing site for the skills portion of the exam. The written portion of the exam is remotely proctored.
Students enrolled in the CNA course at Cuesta take the NNAAP at the end of the course with their instructor. Non-students who have previously completed a CNA course elsewhere or those wishing to renew their certification through NNAAP testing must first register online through the testing vendor TMU California/ Headmaster LLC, following the instructions below:
Instructions for NON-STUDENTS to register for the NNAAP
- Go to the TMU website
- Click Applications
- Fill out the Challenge Candidate Form 11001 and wait for instructions from the vendor (this usually takes 1-2 business days)
- You must pay for each test (written and skills) together or separately before you can register for a date
Note: The Cuesta College Nursing office does not have any testing information other than what is provided above. We are a test site only and not affiliated with the third-party testing vendor. If you have any questions, please reach out to TMU via their customer service number 800-393-8664
