The Cuesta College Campus Emergency Lighting System, also known as CELS, provides a visual enhancement to emergency communication through a 4-color light panel placed throughout the San Luis Obispo and North County campuses, in areas where multiple people gather. Examples of these areas are classrooms, lobbies, athletic facilities and conference rooms among others.
CELS provides the following visual emergency notifications, based on an established color code.
- Flashing Red: Evacuate building immediatley.
- Solid Red: Lock the door and shelter in place.
- Amber: Caution alert, standby for myAlert message.
- White: All Clear.
- Green: Danger has passed.
